| Remarkable for its creamy peach and pear flavors, it picks up a nice smoke and toast nuance and then keeps the flavors lively through its long, complex finish. There are slightly more than 545,000 cases of the 2007 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast, which offers up aromas of orange blossoms, lemon oil, and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied with crisp, fresh fruit, a subtle touch of oak (9% is barrel-fermented), a long, pure finish, and fashioned by winemaker Melissa Stackhouse, this impeccably made Chardonnay should provide enjoyment over the next 2-3 years. Reticent but nuanced nose combines apple, pear, mint, herbs, dusty stone and vanillin oak. Juicy, ripe and fairly concentrated; not especially complex or concentrated but shows a bit more shape and grip than the 2000 Russian River Valley bottling.
