Red-ruby. Complex, superripe, slightly high-toned aromas of roasted plum, smoke, licorice, minerals and spices. Round, sweet and concentrated; this big boy is really stuffed with fruit. Lovely sweetness segues into a very smooth, long finish featuring substantial but lush tannins. A worthy follow-up to the '98; this seems every bit as ripe. Will be bottled without fining or filtration.
